2. Payment Terms
Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed upon. We accept various payment methods, including credit/debit cards and bank transfers.
2.1. Pricing
The pricing for skip hire services is based on the size of the skip, the duration of hire, and the delivery location. Additional charges may apply for extended hire periods or services outside standard operating areas.
2.2. Deposits
A deposit may be required to secure your booking. This deposit is refundable upon the return and inspection of the skip in good condition.
3. Delivery and Collection
We strive to deliver and collect skips promptly on the agreed dates. If delays occur, we will notify you as soon as possible.
3.1. Delivery
- Access: Ensure that our delivery drivers have clear access to the delivery location.
- Placement: The skip must be placed on a stable, level surface with adequate space for delivery and collection.
3.2. Collection
We will collect the skip on the agreed-upon date. Ensure that all contents are removed and the skip is accessible for collection.
4. Accepted Waste Types
Our skips are intended for the disposal of non-hazardous waste only. Accepted materials include:
- General Household Waste: Items such as furniture, clothing, and kitchen appliances.
- Construction Debris: Materials from renovation or building projects.
- Garden Waste: Soil, plants, and non-treated wood.
5. Prohibited Items
For safety and environmental reasons, the following items are strictly prohibited from being disposed of in our skips:
- Chemical Waste: Includes paints, solvents, and pesticides.
- Electronic Waste: Such as computers, televisions, and batteries.
- Medical Waste: Including needles, medications, and bodily fluids.
- Asbestos: Any materials containing asbestos.
6. Liability and Responsibility
You are responsible for ensuring that all waste disposed of in the skip complies with our terms and conditions. Harrow Skip Hire is not liable for any prohibited items found during the collection process.
6.1. Damage to Property
While we take care during delivery and collection, you are responsible for any damage to property caused by improper placement or securing of the skip.
6.2. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Harrow Skip Hire harmless from any claims arising from your use of our services.
7. Cancellation Policy
Bookings may be canceled up to 24 hours before the scheduled delivery without penalty. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the delivery date may incur a cancellation fee.
7.1. Refunds
Refunds for cancellations will be processed using the original payment method, minus any applicable fees.
8. Duration of Hire
The standard hire period is seven days from the date of delivery. Extensions can be requested, subject to availability and additional charges.
8.1. Overdue Returns
Failure to return the skip by the agreed-upon date may result in additional fees and potential legal action.
9. Health and Safety
Health and safety regulations must be adhered to when using our skip hire services. This includes ensuring that no hazardous materials are placed in the skip and that it is placed in a safe location.
9.1. User Responsibility
Users must ensure that the area around the skip is safe and free from obstructions. It is your responsibility to monitor the skip's condition during the hire period.
10. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from the use of our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
11. Amendments
Harrow Skip Hire reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated via our website and will take effect immediately upon posting.
12. Privacy Policy
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Any personal information collected during the booking process will be used solely for providing our services and will not be shared with third parties without your consent.
13. Force Majeure
Harrow Skip Hire shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, or other unforeseen events.
